Quartzsite, Arizona
Yesterday, after my meal in Blythe, California, I continued east on the Interstate 10 to Quartzsite, it was a whole 20 minute trip. I arrived, found my friend Giselle and parked beside her away from the hoards of the meetup of RVers.
Night scene of Quartzsite, AZ
I set up camp, got comfortable and Giselle introduced me to a couple of folks. I gave several people tours of Mobius, the Nomadic Handyvan. I decided to stay for a couple of days and work on a project or two. When I paid my camping fees, I was able to hook up to electricity. Which is great - it'll give my batteries a chance to fully charge before I head out.
For supper, I was feeling like being a bit adventurous - I made Giselle and I pizza. Now that I have a fully functional stove with oven, why not?
I got up this morning, early. Watched the sun come up over the RV park, and made some plans. Which included making a quick release for my second solar panel set up. Later on, I found a RV supplier and actually got a set of proper clips.
I also picked up more components for my generator direct plug-in system. I will work on that later on.

I spent a majority of the day - working on my surprise project - I am struggling with a connection - so you, my reader, shall remain in the dark a little longer. Don't worry - I will reveal this project as soon as it's done!
I checked out Randy's Burger Shack for lunch. It's just across the street from Rice Ranch RV Park. It was typical burgers and fries - good, greasy and filling. I meandered around a few other tent shops on the same block before heading back to Mobius, the Nomadic Handyvan. Again, it gets dark early - I tend to close up my back door between 6 - 7 and curl up with a book or a movie. The great thing about this lifestyle is I have a great deal of down (me) time without having to feel guilty or stressed.

I left Quartzsite around 11AM, I drove down State Highway 95, parallel to KOFA National Wildlife Refuge and Yuma Proving Ground which is part of the US Air Force. While in Yuma I picked up more food at the Supermarket and I headed east on the Interstate 8 until I arrived near Wellton, Arizona. I parked at a rest stop and fell asleep. I haven't slept near a purring 18 wheeler in almost a month. Overall it was a quiet rest stop. I got up in the morning grab a picture of some of the information panels. I am in the desert for sure - I have spotted a number of the huge saguaro cacti. They fascinate me.

Why, Arizona
I continued my trip from Quartzsite to Why by driving east on the I-8 until I arrived in Gila Bend and then I headed south on the State Highway 85 to Ajo and then Why. I will be staying here for a month. I am camping at Coyote Howl East Park.
Check out their website: https://coyotehowlsrvparks.com/coyote-howls-rv-park-east/
I am parked near a bathroom, and there are showers available as well as a laundry room. So not as primitive as you'd think. I think the rates for camping here for a month are exceptionally reasonable.
Saguaro Cactus. These are huge!!
I don't know......but loads of prickly bits!

I have been eager to start sewing, and at the same time I find myself procrastinating. I figure I will find my balance and then get busy. For the first time since I got Mobius, the Nomadic Handyvan, I really don't have any pressing construction needs to be done. I guess I will kick myself into low gear and remember how to really relax.

Yesterday and today, I started to prep cloth for making a bunch of tea towel hangy thingies. Again, I am still in low gear. I also made another pizza for myself. I am loving my stove with oven.
The day time weather has been spectacular...warm (+20C, sunny skies) and the nights are rather cool (+9C). I have developed a bit of routine for myself. I use the solar power in the mid afternoon, and then at 4:30 or 5 I turn on the generator for extra power. I have to turn off the generator at 9pm. Don't want to disturb anyone around me. I think there are a few of us relying on generators. Some folks are here long term and have huge systems of solar power. One day I will get more power, but for now the two solar power systems and the generator give me enough power to run my cooler and my electronics. I accidently wrecked my cheap charge controller - one of the battery cables came loose and I didn't unplug the solar before reconnecting it - that's all it takes to wreck the charge controller. I will eventually replace it.
A place to chill in the shade!

Leftover pizza for brunch. Hmmmmmm. Today is the first day I ventured away from my camp site. Folks seem so friendly. I have chatted with a couple on my way to the library-computer room. I think I haven't been as productive with my sewing because I don't have a supervisor like I have had in past - Zuza, and Snowball the cat!
Mobuis, the Nomadic Handyvan in the sun!
